BIBLE EXPLANATION CONCERNING MAN (PART D)

1 Thessalonians  5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

It is necessary that I bring your attention to the scripture above that as a man you have spirit, soul and body. When God created man from the beginning he made him a spirit.

The spirit created

(Genesis  1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.  1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.) God is a Spirit, so he created man just like HIM, man was created in the image and likeness of God. When God created man, man was in God.

The Body formed

(Genesis  2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground…). God formed the body of man, The body derives its origin from the earth, hence because it is earthly it is decomposable and perishable.

The soul

(Genesis  2:7 …and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.).

We see that the soul came to be as soon as the body received the breath of life. What happened is this, God created Man as spirit and put the man in the body formed from the dust and man became a living soul.

The soul is the link between the spirit and the body, hence; the soul is composed of our will, intellect, emotion, etc. For the man to control his body or send signal to his body it has to pass through the soul, therefore understanding is done in the realms of the soul.

Therefore; man is a spirit that lives in a body and has a soul.

Salvation.

Romans  5:14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.  5:18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

so Jesus Christ is represented the same way Adam was, hence Adam is described a type of Jesus- what he will do to mankind.

The word salvation is from a Greek word soteria, which means to rescue or deliver from…

salvation is the deliverance from sin, it’s consequences and the guilt of sin. it is the restoration of man to God, when Jesus died, he dealt with sin as a nature and as an act, however; salvation cut across the whole part of man, the spirit, soul and body.

In The Spirit;

Salvation occurs instantaneously in the spirit, the moment you gave your life to Christ, your spirit is saved instantly.2 Corinthians  5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. This take place in the spirit.

In The Soul;

Salvation of the soul is a gradual process. A man can give his life to Christ and still think and do things as he used to because his soul is not yet saved. Romans  12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.  12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. Your soul is saved as you keep renewing your mind by the word of God.

In The Body;

The body still remain the same, waiting for the day of redemption, otherwise known as the “Rapture”. Rom 8:10, 1Jhn:3:1-3, Philippians  3:21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
