Your Absence

In the crucible of painful times,
Your absence exposed me to ordeal moments;

Moments of oppression and brutality

From life’s unfair, nasty, and unjust circumstance.

Somewhere between grief and agony,

At the intercept of sorrow and distress

My heart pounding within the cavity of my thorax,

And a deep sea of emotions waxed within me

Leading to the crushing fracture of my heart.

Thoughts flooded my mind with a question ‘WHY ME?’

What a crowd of tender thoughts.

You left me with brokenness,

You left me with hurt,

You left with insecurity.

The obscure and dismal backwash of your absence

Left an aching vacuum in me;

That reminds me of that moment you walked away.
